Hello everyone,
I just thought of something…
I don´t think I have taught you the most basic word I should teach out. I haven´t checked all the previous lessons, but I don´t think I have…
Todays words are:
Sverige which means Sweden
Svensk which means swedish as in “I am swedish”
Svenska which means swedish as “I speak swedish”
From now and on the “Todays word (date)” in Firefox Live Bookmarks, Blog titles, etc, will be renamed to “Sw: The english word”.

Hi people,
Sorry if I am a few weeks late on this.
But here is the time post.
I am not sure it is every word there is, that is time related, so maybe there will be a second post later.
The numbers below is 1 to 30 for the reason that there is 30 days in one month (I know there is 31 in some), but I think with these 30 you will understand how to write them. In swedish, its mostly the “teen” numbers that differ from the rest. If you don´t understand or want to know more timerelated, just make a comment and I will reply.

Oh what a day.
First nothing happened and then nothing happened and then we bathed Gissa and running the weekly big antivirus scan. May not be lots of things, but it feels like an eternity when I am not able to use the the computer.
Anyway, here are todays words, which are simple to translate…
Januari = January
Februari = February
Mars = March
April = April
Maj = May
Juni = June
Juli = July
Augusti = August
September = September
Oktober = October
November = November
December = December
Since most months are spelled the same way in both languages, I wonder who borrowed the names from who.

Yesterday, someone asked me if I had taught out basic words, like yes and no and so on, yet. No, it´s because I try to find a word every time that had something to do with that day (like feber the other day). But one can always change its strategy a bit. ![]()
So todays words are:
ja which means yes
och which means and
nej which means no
And to answer the question how I am asked earlier…
I am better now. Went to bed with feber on monday evening and stayed there until yesterday morning.
I am not the kind of person who checks my temperature very often unless told by a doc. If I have a feber I can feel it without a thermometer, this time it must have been around 104F and I slept all day, which I think I have not been able to do before in my life (perhaps another time was the time when I had so much feber so the thermometer E as in error. :lol:)

Not sure if there will be a word tomorrow, it depends how my cold develops (in other words, will Thomas get out of bed tomorrow?)
If not tomorrow, there should be a new word here on Wednesday.
Until then…take care. ![]()

Todays sentences are 2 of the ways you can respond with if anyone asks you Hur mår du?.
If you wanna say I am fine, you would use jag mår bra.
If you wanna say I am sick you would use jag är sjuk.
There is no good way to directly translate these two english sentences to swedish, if done, it would mean something that would be incorrect to use.
In the everyday language you would skip the first part and just respond with bra or sjuk
By the way…
If anyone wanna speed up their learning I have a zip file with pics from a beginners book of swedish.
On the pics the item is drawn, the swedish translation is written on the pic and the english name of the item is included in the filename.
Here is an example:

E-mail me if you want the zip file. ![]()
